The following are the Centre’s key figures for supporting researchers in 2020.
Digital Skills Development and Community Building
- There were over 500 counts of participation in digital skills development and community building either organised or collaborated with other service providers within the University by the Centre for eResearch.

Research Computing Platform
Our Centre assisted researchers setting up over 251 new projects across 10 departments which made a total over 465 researchers supported in 2018 by Research Virtual Machines and Nectar cloud service. (see right graph for a breakdown of researchers supported by faculty)
Visualisation and Analytics
- The Centre provided support to 30 visualisation and analytics research projects across 5 faculties.
- The Visualisation Suite had a utilisation rate of over 79% of the available capacity in 2018.

Research Data Management
- 232 TB of data with 188 top-level research folders supported in research drive.
- Dropbox has 10+TB and 475 current members with 2/3 active users at any one time.
- The team provided 297 research projects recorded for storage across Unifiles and Dropbox.

Research Outcomes

A total over 300 reported research outcomes (such as journals, conference proceedings and oral presentations etc.) were supported via the Centre’s various services including Visualisation and Analytics consultation, Research Virtual Machines, Nectar cloud and Research Data Storage and Management support. These output numbers are based on a survey run by the Centre and only represent those who responded to the survey. It is likely that some research outcomes are not listed.

The Google Data Studio graphic shows the researchers’ requests through IT ticketing system via Research Hub after successful integration in October 2018.
